Harvest Moon goes online!
Have you ever wondered how great it would be to have an online Harvest Moon where you could interact with your friends' farms and towns?... Well we don't seem to be at that point quite yet, but Marvelous is making some moves in that direction!
Marvelous recently announced a new online browser-based Harvest Moon game titled Minna De Bokujou Monogatari (rough translation - "Let's Harvest Moon"). The game is in beta testing right now in Japan, and there's no information on when it might be released.
It is a browser game, so that probably means instead of playing the game off of a CD, you would play it directly on your internet browser. From the little information that has been posted on the official website it seems to be very similar in nature to the popular facebook game, Farmville.
You basically take care of your online farm, harvesting crops and raising animals with the help of harvest sprites. However, there is no town, so you have to buy all of your seeds and animals from a shop window. You can assign your harvest sprites to do different tasks, and online friends can help you out with gifts or farmwork.
We'll keep you updated as we learn more about the game! :)

Hey everyone, hope you've been enjoying all of the E3 press conferences and new game announcements!
If you caught Nintendo's conference this morning, you saw official unveiling of the new Nintendo 3DS: the first ever portable 3D gaming system! Nintendo definitely seems to have outdone themselves once again with this new system. They even went so far as to mention a potential list of Nintendo 3DS games.
If you're not familiar with it, E3 (electronic entertainment expo) is a popular video game convention that goes on every year in Los Angeles, California. All sorts of video game companies show up at the the convention including Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, EA, and even Natsume!
Of course Natsume is the publisher of Harvest Moon games, and this year at E3 they will be showing off their newest games coming out later this year! They recently released a little promotional booklet for E3 featuring Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar and Rune Factory 3. Click the images below to view each game's feature in the booklet:
E3 will start tomorrow, June 14th, and run through Thursday. We'll keep you posted on all of the news from Natsume, Grand Bazaar, and RF3, so check back a little later this week!

It's confirmed, Rune Factory 3 is coming to the Nintendo DS later this year! Natsume, as expected, will be publishing the game which is the 3rd DS title and 4th overall in the Rune Factory series.
If you've never played a Rune Factory game before, it's similar to the Harvest Moon series. It has farming and relationship features, but it adds in fantasy/moster-fighting aspects as well. Here's the official newsletter sent out by Natsume:
"Burlingame, Calif., June 8, 2010 - Natsume Inc., a worldwide developer and publisher of family-oriented video games, announced today that Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon will be released for the Nintendo DST later this year. The Rune Factory series combines the fun and rewarding gameplay of Harvest Moon with the fantasy and excitement of an action-RPG, offering Harvest Moon fans and traditional RPG players the best of both worlds.
"We can't wait to give fans their first look at this title at the upcoming E3 tradeshow," said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume. "This game has a powerful story, a compelling new cast of characters, and a lot of exciting new features. It's the best and deepest Rune Factory yet!"
The people of Sharance and their horned Univir neighbors are embroiled in a bitter conflict. An age-old hatred between humans and monsters divides them. Micah is an adventurer with an unusual secret: he's half monster! He'll have to unite the humans and the Univir in time to stop the growing evil force that threatens to destroy them both!
Rune Factory 3 introduces a number of exciting new features to the Rune Factory series: befriended villagers will now join you in battle and lend you their unique skills, players can transform the main character into his monster form to unleash a savage new arsenal of fighting moves, and the game's new multiplayer mode lets up to three players work together to conquer unique dungeons packed with rare items and fearsome monsters.
Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon will make its first public appearance at this month's E3 show in the Los Angeles area and will ship to retail later this year.
