HMOtaku > Games > Rune Factory > Girls and Marriage Girls and MarriageAs in any Harvest Moon game, marriage and starting a family is an important aspect of playing the game to its fullest. Here's where you can find all the info on how the marriage system works and how to woo your favorite girl. There are 11 potential partners here in total. This is a big page, so use the Jump to's to get to the part you're most concerned about. Jump to: The Marriage SystemCourtshipIn this game, difficulty to marry for each of the girls ranges from very easy, to easy, to medium, to hard, to very hard. You can find each girl's level in her profile. There are two different types of social levels: Friendship Levels and Love Levels. You need a Love Level of 10 points in order to be able to propose. You can find your stats for both by pressing the Start button; it's the 6th tab down. While Friendship Levels are easy to raise (give gifts, regularly interact, etc.), Love Levels are the ones you're concerned about here. In general, Love Levels will also raise when you give people gifts (especially on their birthdays!), speak with them, etc. If you interact with the girl before anyone else on a calendar event day, she gains a special love boost. In addition, however, most girls also have certain specific requirements to fulfill, unique to each girl. Those will be described later on. Also, make sure you pay attention to the Marriage Events! These include the Spring Festival (Spring 18), Harvest Festival (Fall 7), Moonlit Eve (Fall 17), Fishing Day (Fall 29), the Winter Festival (Winter 6), and Sacred Night (Winter 24). Participating in these events will give your potential girl a greater love boost than just normally giving her presents or speaking with her. See the Festivals section for more info. Requirements for MarriageThese are the general requirements for marrying any girl. All must be completed before you can propose.
ProposalProposing in this game is a bit more complicated, depending on the girl. There's actually a proposal ritual that you'll need to go through, and it's different for each girl. You can see each girl's specific "rituals" in their profiles below. After MarriageAfter you've completed the "rituals" needed and have married the girl of your dreams, you'll get the marriage cutscenes, etc. Your wife will have a child 150 days after you marry. When this happens, you talk to your wife and view the second ending sequence, marking the end of a successful game. In addition, you can make your wife call you cute pet names after you're married! It's different for each girl, though. They'll be listed below. TopBiancaThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Medium Bianca is Jasper's daughter. She's an only child, leaving her terribly spoiled. She says and does whatever she wants, and really could care less about what others think. If she thinks anything is wrong with you, you'll know. She grew up surrounded by extreme wealth; it's left her "jaded," and so she doesn't think much of material things. She's constantly bored, and may be on the lookout for anything that may be able to entertain her a bit. Residence: Jasper's House Tips for CourtingWell, now that presents are most certainly out of the question, it makes her tougher to court. She will not gain love points from presents under any circumstances---even during Marriage Events---so don't even try. She will only ever gain love points from conversation, which is why it's essential to get your Friendship Level with Jasper up to three points as soon as possible so that you can talk to her after hours in her bedroom. It's also important to make sure you speak to her before anyone else during Calendar Events and Marriage events, since that's one of the only ways to get an extra love boost. However, remember that during Marriage Events, anything that doesn't involve giving presents will still work normally. All in all, it may require about a year of attention, so make sure you use those events. Specific Marriage RequirementsAfter endless hours of conversation, you could expect this part to be easy. Just talk to Bianca when she's in the park on holidays after her Love Level has reached 10. You should be able to propose now. After MarriageBianca will agree to call you either your name, "Honeybuns," or "Don [Raguna]." She'll offer to call you "Dear," but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you at the start of each day is Cake. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after 9 AM.
Schedule (After Marriage)She'll always stay in your house after you marry her. On New Year's Day, the Spring Festival, the Big Cook-Off, Beaches Open, Dairy Show, Treasure Hunt, Harvest Festival, Wool Show, and New Year's Eve, she'll stand outside between 6 AM and 6 PM. You can't talk to her after 6 PM. TopFelicityThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Easy Felicity is the mayor's daughter. She's very ill---began to suffer from some mysterious ailent about a yera ago. She's a gentle, kind-hearted girl, though, and despite her illness, still works in Neumann's store and tries to help as many people as she can. Residence: Mayor's House Tips for CourtingLike Rosetta, Felicity is pretty generic when it comes to courtship. Just make sure you talk with her often, give her presents, etc.---especially make sure to give her her favorite, Eggplant Curd, on her birthday! Specific Marriage RequirementsIf you want to marry Felicity, you'll have to find a way to cure her first. Go read the "Cursed Stone Legend" in the library. After you've done this, talk to Cecilia on the first floor of the library on a rainy/snowy weekday. She tells you that she once gave Felicity a stone after reading that book, and the story frightened her so much that she got rid of her entire stone collection, transferring possession of some of those stones to Felicity. Then, raise your friendship level with the mayor to at least three points; you'll then be able to visit Felicity in her room at night. Talk to her, and she'll confirm that she took a stone from Cecilia's collection last year---which also happens to be around the same time she got sick! You'll share your suspicions about the stone, and she'll give it to you. Give this stone to Dr. Edward. He'll confirm that it's actually the stone from the legend and dispose of it for you. Then go back and talk to Felicity while she's in Neumann's store, the bath house, or her room, and you'll find out that she's been feeling much better! Once you're ready to propose now, just go talk to her in the park. After MarriageFelicity will agree to call you either your name, "Dear," or "Lil' [Raguna]." She'll offer to call you "Honeybuns," but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you at the start of each day is a Choco Cookie.
TopLaraThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Easy Lara is Wesley's daughter. She works at Edward's hospital as a nurse. She's extremely soft-hearted, and constantly worries about you when you go off to fight and explore dungeons. And make sure you never overwork yourself to the point of passing out! She'll take it especially badly. Residence: Church Tips for CourtingLike Felicity, Lara doesn't really require anything special. Just make sure you talk to her and give her presents. However, bear in mind that her Love Points decrease every time you pass out from overworking. Specific Marriage RequirementsRescue Cecilia from Clemens Cave, and then raise your Friendship Level with Russell to at least 3 points. After this, visit Cecilia in her bedroom, and she'll give you the Lapis Lazuli. Then, once Lara's Love Points are at 10, give her the Lapis Lazuli. You'll then be able to propose to her. After MarriageLara will agree to call you either your name, "Dear," or "Honeybuns." She'll offer to call you "[Raguna]-meister" (or, whatever your name was in place of "Raguna"), but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you at the start of each day is a Medicinal Herb.
TopLynetteThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Hard Lynette will move to Kardia after the events at the end of the game; she was exiled from the Sechs Empire, and has now taken an interest in your village's simpler way of life. She's one of the harder girls to marry. Residence: Mist's House Tips for CourtingWell, for starters, targeting Lynette will inevitably make your game longer: you cannot marry her until after you've beat the game (RPG-wise, as in, defeating all the dungeons). Also, her schedule changes every day, making it more difficult to interact with her. And then you have presents: she really only likes three items, all of which happen to be relatively rare. The first thing you want to do is grow a lot of 4-Leaf Clovers. By the time you've beat the game, you shouldn't have any problem getting these; they should sell at the General Store for 9000G each. The recommended area to plant them would be in Clemens Cave (the first floor), considering you have a pool of water right next to the eight fields. You can also use Formula to cut down on growing time. Next, it's a good idea to catch six Peekamoo and start increasing their Friendship Levels with you, enabling you to get six large milks a week from them. Then, just get the Yogurt Maker and you've got Large Yogurt, another gift for her. Lastly, for bamboo shoots, make sure all the fields in Kasimir Ruins and Carmite Cave are flat, so that all those weeds and other junk will grow. Till as little of your field as possible during Spring, so that you can have a steady supply of bamboo shoots to give her before you can start relying on the yogurt and clovers. Marriage and Calendar Events are also essential. Make sure you talk to her first thing on event days and participate in as many Marriage Events as you can. You also need a Friendship Level of 8 with everybody else in town to marry her, so winning competitive events, such as the Big Cook-Off, will help with that. Note: Also, bear in mind that you can only interact with Lynette in Mist's house if she's there alone. If both of them are in there, then they overlap, and any attempt to interact with her ends up interacting with Mist instead. It is still possible to do the Sacred Night event with her, though: the event always falls on a Friday, and Mist will be in the Bath House between 9 and 10 PM. Just talk to Lynette then. Specific Marriage RequirementsAfter her love points are maxed out, you need at least 8 friendship points with everybody else in town, not including Ivan. Then, just go talk to Lynette wherever. The conversation that will lead to proposal occurs randomly, so don't think anything is wrong if you don't get it at first; just keep talking. After MarriageLynette will agree to call you either your name, "Dear," or "[Raguna] baby." She'll offer to call you "Honeybuns," but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you at the start of each day is an apple pie. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after 6 AM.
Schedule (After Marriage)She'll always stay in your house after you marry her. On New Year's Day, the Spring Festival, the Big Cook-Off, Beaches Open, Dairy Show, Treasure Hunt, Harvest Festival, Wool Show, and New Year's Eve, she'll stay in Mist's House all day. TopMeiThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Very Hard Mei is a mysterious woman who came to Kardia from a far-off country to accomplish an unknown mission. She looks young and has a petite build, but people say she's actually very old. Fishing is her hobby. This girl is the hardest one to marry. Residence: Inn Tips for CourtingMei is the absolute most difficult girl to marry. You're really going to have to work hard to get her. Her Love Level will rise slowly no matter what you do, and you'll need to use the Wi-Fi item trading function in the game extensively if you want to propose successfully. Presents and conversations do not affect her Love Level, so don't try. Her Love Level will only increase otherwise when you participate in Marriage Events, or when giving her a Baked Riceball on her birthday. Also, most events can't be used to raise her Love Level more than once. All in all, marrying Mei could require up to two full years of patience, consistent effort, and careful planning. Specific Marriage RequirementsAfter you've got her Love Level maxed out, wait for Winter and go into Misty Bloom Cave. While you're there, you need to catch a Lover Snapper. You can catch some Lover Snapper with the Willow Rod (that you should already have), but they'll be really small (only around level six). You'll need a level eighty Lover Snapper to get on with the proposal, and this is impossible to catch. This is why you can only obtain it by trading Lover Snapper with friends over Wi-Fi. The smaller the fish is to begin with, the longer you have to convince someone to trade with you. You may also want to forge up your fishing rod until it becomes the Sacred Rod, which will take about a week or so if you've already beat the game. Once you have it, you can catch a really big Lover Snapper---it'll be around Level 70---by fishing in the deepest parts of Misty Bloom Cave. This'll lessen the amount of trading you have to do. Once you got your Level 80 Lover Snapper, go give it to Mei. You'll be able to propose now. After MarriageMei will agree to call you either your name, "Husband," or "Milord." She'll offer to call you "Honeybuns," but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you at the start of each day is a baked riceball. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after 9 AM.
Schedule (After Marriage)She always stays inside your house. On New Years Day, the Spring Festival, The Egg Show, the Big Cook-off, Beaches Open, Dairy Show, Treasure Hunt, Harvest Festival, Wool Show, and New Year's Eve, she'll stay outside between 6 AM and 6 PM. You can't talk to her after 6 PM. TopMelodyThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Easy Melody is the one who runs the Bath House. If you're wondering why she's dressed like she is, she once intended on becoming a witch. It apparently didn't work out, however, and she ended up becoming where she is now instead. She's always bright and cheerful, but if you look closely, you may see signs of a tragic past. Residence: Bath House Tips for CourtingMelody isn't difficult to court, albeit a bit odd. You can't really give her presents, so don't try too hard. It really only works during the Marriage Events. Other than this, only talking to her and taking a bath every day will increase her love points. It's a bit tougher now that presents are out of the question, but you should still be able to raise her Love Level about one point a week if you give her lots of attention. Specific Marriage RequirementsThis part is actually trickier than it looks. First, talk to Melody outside of Kasimir Ruins when she visits them on Friday. Keep talking to her until she mentions her bond with Sharron. Then, raise your friendship level with Lady Ann to at least three points so that you can go into the Inn after hours. Use this to talk to Sharron in her room at the Inn after 9 PM. If you've set up the sequence of events properly, Sharron will mention that Melody is actually a very lonely person, and she'll encourage you to go ask Melody about it. Wait until Melody is at 10 love points, and then go see her in her bedroom. If everything went right, you should be able to propose to her then. After MarriageMelody will agree to call you either your name, "Little [Raguna]," or "Honeybuns." She'll offer to call you "Dear," but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you at the start of each day is Curry Udon. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after 3 PM.
Schedule (After Marriage)She always stays inside your house. On New Years Day, the Spring Festival, The Egg Show, the Big Cook-off, Beaches Open, Dairy Show, Treasure Hunt, Harvest Festival, Wool Show, and New Year's Eve, she'll stay outside from 6 AM to 6 PM. You can't talk to her after 6 PM. TopMistThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Easy You'll know Mist from the game's introduction. She's the "main heroine," here---and, if you're one of those that likes to keep to the storyline, can be considered the girl you're "supposed" to marry. I mean, even if she does seem a bit strange at first, she did save you from starvation and thirst when you collapsed in front of her house, didn't she? She may seem overbearing or outlandish at times, but she will always be there if you ever need her assistance. Residence: Mist's House Tips for CourtingYou'd think there'd be higher standards for the main heroine of the story, but Mist isn't actually that difficult to marry; you will need a slightly different approach, however. She likes presents and conversation like any other girl, but take into consideration her many quirks: conversation is easy, since she lives right below you. Her favorite present, however, the Emery Flower, takes an entire 120 days to grow! You can just grow a field of them in a cave so you can give them to her on her birthday (and then buy or craft lots of Formula to cut down on growing time). If you want to give her something every day, though, try Baked Apples in the Winter, another baked item (e.g., cake, steamed bread) in the Summer, Radishes in Spring, and Sweet Potatoes in Fall---the last two being especially important. Mist likes it when your cultivate the fields outside of your house. This is one way to increase her Love Points. Don't think about cheating, either; just tilling the fields and not planting anything won't work. You need to specifically plant crops in as many fields of your dirt as possible. It's recommended you use leveld up tools and lots of monsters to help you with this. Specific Marriage RequirementsYou cannot propose to Mist until you've defeated Danaan Cave's boss. After this, wait until her love points are at 10, and then make sure you've tilled every single field outside your house. Then just go speak to Mist in her house, and you should be able to propose. After MarriageMist will agree to call you either your name, "Dear," or "Boy [Raguna]." She'll offer to call you "Honeybuns," but won't actually call you that. Mist will give you a random box lunch every day from a list of four possible box lunches---only one of which is actually edible! You could end up with a Sardine, Tempura Udon, Flour, or a Tomato Seed. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after Noon.
Schedule (After Marriage)She always stays inside your house. On New Years Day, the Spring Festival, The Egg Show, the Big Cook-off, Beaches Open, Dairy Show, Treasure Hunt, Harvest Festival, Wool Show, and New Year's Eve, she'll stand outside between 6 AM and 6 PM. After 6 PM, she'll go back to her original house. TopRosettaThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Very Easy Rosetta is Jean's daughter. She's the one who comes up to pick up the items from your shipping bin every weekday at 5. Unlike her father, she's straightforward, blunt, and aggressive when it comes to getting what she wants. She likes you, and views Mist as her rival for your affection---which is why you may notice she seems to make it a point to visit your farm every day, probably to counteract Mist's visits! Residence: General Store Tips for CourtingWell, since she starts out liking you anyway, she can't be too hard to marry, right? So she's pretty generic in terms of courting. Obviously, give her presents she likes, talk to her, etc., and once you can cook the Baked Potato, do it. In addition, her Love Points increase a little bit when you use the Shipping Bin (rather than selling them directly to shops). Specific Marriage RequirementsYou'll need to get the White Stone if you want to marry Rosetta, so make sure you go to the library and look for that book that mentions it---the "legend of the White Stone." Next, you'll need to raise your Friendship Points with Jean to at least three; this way he'll let you into the General Store after hours. Visit Rosetta in her room and talk to her about the White Stone. Then you'll have to find the White Stone! It's located in Toros Cave, in a pile of snow. Once you've got it, raise her Love Levels to the required point (10), and give it to her when you want to propose. The option to actually propose will then come. (Fun Fact: If you don't want to marry Rosetta, you may also sell it to Lukas. Go to the Pub on a holiday at noon, and he'll talk to you. You can sell the White Stone to him for a whopping 100,000G---all so that he can propose to Rosetta instead! If not, other options include making fun of him by offering to sell it for a million g, or just refusing to sell it.) After MarriageRosetta will agree to call you either your name, "Dear," or "Honeybuns." She'll offer to call you "Milord," but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you at the start of each day is a corn on the cob. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after 9 AM.
Schedule (After Marriage)She always stays inside your house. On New Years Day, the Spring Festival, The Egg Show, the Big Cook-off, Beaches Open, Dairy Show, Treasure Hunt, Harvest Festival, Wool Show, and New Year's Eve, she'll stand outside between 6 AM and 6 PM. You can't talk to her after 6 PM. TopSharronThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Very Easy Sharon is that mysterious woman obsessed with Kasimir Ruins. She doesn't interact with many of the villagers for her eccentric personality, and even expects most others to be frightened of her! Her only other real friend is Melody. Residence: Inn Tips for CourtingSharron just loves mysteries---and you, the warrior/farmer with amnesia, just happen to be one! Needless to say she takes a bit of interest in you from the very start, and is probably one of the easiest girls to marry. She loves presents. In fact, her Love Points only raise when you give her presents. Relax Tealeaves are her favorite thing, but since it's somewhat cumbersome to have to gather up all the different grasses needed, you should be fine just saving it for special occasions. Otherwise, you can find Fire and Wind Crystals in Clemens Cave and Kasimir Ruins, respectively. She'll gain love boosts from all of them, and you could very easily have her wooed within just a few days! Specific Marriage RequirementsYou'll need the Grimoire Sword if you want to propose to Sharron. Have Leo forge it using the Grimoire Scale after defeating the Grimoire Dragon. Make sure you also read "The Legend of Grimoire" at the library. It'll take Leo three days to forge the sword. Then, just give it to Sharron and you're finished. After MarriageSharron will agree to call you either your name, "Dear," or "Milord." She'll offer to call you "Honeybuns," but won't actually call you that. Her box lunch for you is a doughnut. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after 6 AM.
Schedule (After Marriage)She always stays inside your house after you're married. TopTabathaThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Medium Tabatha is Bianca's maid, though she may not really come off as "hired help." She's patient and has a "very dry wit," and is a lot cleverer than the ignorant country girl she pretends to be. She wears that enormous hat so you can't see it, but Tabatha is actually an elf! It isn't known why she came to live in a human village. Residence: Jasper's House Tips for CourtingThe best way to court Tabatha isn't so much hard as it is expensive. Obviously, she'll like conversation, presents, and participating in those Marriage Events with you, but the best way to raise her Love Level is by catching monsters. You'll need to catch and retain at least 50 of them in order to meet her proposal requirements, so make sure you get those monster huts up soon! Tabatha will gain love points each time you catch a monster---any monster. So, yes, you may go catch 50 of the same monster if you like, and you don't have to take care of them. By the time you've reached all 50, Tabatha's Love Level should be maxed out. Specific Marriage RequirementsAs soon as you've caught 50 monsters, Tabatha's Love Level should be at the required point. then, just go talk to her when she's outside the Kasimir Ruins, and you should be able to propose. After MarriageTabatha will agree to call you either "Dear," "Honeybuns," or "Milord." She actually refuses to call you by your name! Her box lunch for you is corn.
TopToriThe BasicsMarriage Difficulty: Hard Tori's Lady Ann's daughter, that cute little blond girl with the glasses. She's shy and "bookish"---the complete opposite of Zavier, her big brother. She loves books, and works at the library. Her dream is to one day meet a handsome prince, just like in the fairytales, and she compares almost everything to the novels she's read. Her speech is hesitant and halting; she doesn't have much practice, she doesn't talk to people that often. Residence: Inn Tips for CourtingIf you want to marry Tori, you better start early on. She's a shy, quiet girl obsessed with books; it's obviously going to require a lot of patience to woo her. Conversation and presents will only raise Tori's Friendship Level, so don't focus on those. The only way to raise her Love Level on a day-to-day basis is by going to the library and reading one of the tutorial books on the first two rows of the shelves. It doesn't matter what you read, as long as you read something once a day. Also note that she doesn't have to be in the library while you do it; it'll still raise her Love Level. And don't expect this to happen fast: you may be reading for an entire week or two before you see her Love Level increase. This means that you want to make the most of Marriage Events, so make sure you participate in them. Specific Marriage RequirementsOnce you've finally maxed out her love, wait for a holiday night when it isn't raining or snowing. Take a bath in the Bath House, and then go visit Tori on Mt. Clemens. Give her a Large Milk to initiate the conversation, and then you should be able to propose. After MarriageTori will agree to call you either "Dear," "Honeybuns," or "Milord." She actually refuses to call you by your name! Her box lunch for you is a baked apple. ScheduleThis is her schedule throughout the entire day, every day of the week. Moonlit Eve: Invite her for a date after 9 AM.
