A little late getting this up on the main site, but in case you guys hadn't heard Rune Factory 2 is heading to North america this fall! No specific date has been announced, and with Natsume anything's possible, but I would expect to see it sometime before the end of the year. The game will be making its first public appearance at E3 in just a couple weeks so look out for that. Official press release can be see heeeere. Also, fellow HM-fansite Ranchstory is holding a sweepstakes all this month in anticipation of the release of Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness later this August! Two lucky grand prize winners will receive a copy of the DS game. It's free to enter and you can do so daily, so make sure you don't miss the chance to win a free Harvest Moon game! Link! And in case you guys are wondering why everything has seemed so slow on the site recently, the HMO staff has been working hard for the past month or so revamping the site. So expect to see a great new skin, forum layout, more updates, and other cool features like a fanart gallery up sometime in the coming weeks. We'll keep you posted! P.S. .. just a couple quick HM-related notes: NintendoPower, one of the first to review Island of Happiness, gave it a 7/10 Rune Factory has been officially set for release on September 12th for Europe!

Rune Factory Frontier's official website just opened and can be checked out here! It is in Japanese though, and there's not much to see at the moment.. But hey, it's open and we'll make sure to keep you guys posted on its updates and such! Also, you can check out some of the latest screens from the game here at Famitsu. Looks like we already have some newcomers, Annette the mail lady and Drop who seems to be a mature and talented immigrant to the land. Also, some news in the world of plushies! At this point, Natsume has more or less made it tradition: Harvest Moon game preorders come with a plushie. The upcoming Tree of Tranquility and Island of Happiness games are no exceptions! Amazon.com now has a preoder deal going on where they'll send you a plushie along with the game at release if you preorder with them. A cow plush (yes, it's the same cow from the AWL preorder deal...) is given for Tree of Tranquility, and Island of Happiness comes with a chicken+chick plush. Check 'em out below! Awwwwwwww

Rune Factory headed to the Wii |

 That's right, it looks like Marvelous has turned to the Wii for the next installment in the Rune Factory series (thanks to Phlo for the tip!) The game, titled "Rune Factory: Frontier", is rumored to take place sometime between Rune Factory 1 and 2, and features Laguna as the main character. Check out these scans (page 1, page 2) from the latest issue of Famitsu! There aren't many other details known at this point, but expect to see it released in Japan, late '08. As usual though, should be a while before the game leaves Japan.
But until then, mark your calendars for some upcoming HM releases in the next few months. Tree of Tranquility and Island of Happiness are now both scheduled for release on July 29th in North America, while Europe will receive TOT one month earlier on the 28th of June and Rune Factory some time in September. So whether you have a Wii or DS, live in North America or Europe, you'll be sure to see plenty of farming action this summer! |
