HMO Christmas Tree 2010

Hello everyone! For vets of the forum this thread should no longer need an introduction, but for any new members we've gained this year allow me to introduce you to a little 'tradition' we have around here. Every year we get together and design Christmas ornaments that are used to decorate a forum Christmas tree :) Chuck originally started it and some way or another I became the one to put the tree together every year.

So if you would like to create an ornament for the tree I have some bauble templates you can use

Now don't feel limited to making a bauble, you can make the ornament any shape you want, use your imagination! Also it makes my job much easier if your ornaments have a transparent background, although that isn't a requirement.

As a new rule this year members are restricted to submitting four ornaments for the tree. If you submit any more then this you must inform me which you would like on the tree or I will choose.

(Not sure how I'm going to top 2009's tree O_o)

I start making the tree at 11pm EST on Christmas Eve, so please get any submissions in by that time (although if you beg me on MSN I might accept a late submission) The final tree should ideally be posted at midnight.

I'm hoping to see some really great stuff from you guys this year :)

You can, I guess, but I'd say just to download GIMP, and learn to use it.

Every member is now restricted to four ornaments. If you submit more then four ornaments you must inform me of those you wish to be on the tree by the deadline or I will choose them myself. The original post will be edited to reflect this.

Because people did not seem to like me including myself in the image, and there was no real place for me besides being an angel again or maybe hiding behind a tree.

Four ornaments is more then a reasonable number. I want to encourage people to put thought and their best effort into creating their ornaments instead of creating a bucket of basic ones

I'm sorry but I don't fancy covering half the tree with basic ornaments from people who I know are capable of creating some very good work. I hate saying all this and I know it makes me sound like an asshole, but I'm not the only member who feels this way.

Your ornament was not included due to it not having a transparent background, having unclear borders and heavy artifacts :/ It was difficult to tell where exactly to cut it out.
