Weapons Guide

Alright, so, given the fact that this is an RPG spinoff of the game, there's been a lot of features added concerning tools that some of you may not be familiar with. For example, did you know that your tools/weapons have stats now? Here's where you can find all that, and more.

This page will deal specifically with weapons. Tools and Accessories have their own pages.

The Blacksmith's Shop

Leo, the blacksmith, is the guy you want to visit for all your tool/weapon needs. His shop is the one with the two criss-cross tools on the top of it, towards the right after entering the town through your farm. It's open from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays. Also note that he doesn't work during rainy days.

All the tools and weapons you buy will be from Leo. Make sure to check frequently---at least every season---since his inventory changes a lot. Also, bear in mind that his inventory isn't necessarily permanent; if you don't snag something when you can, it might just disappear! (( A complete list of everything available to buy from him will be coming to the Shops page soon. ))

Upgrading / Forging

There are two possible ways to upgrade your things in this game: either by yourself, or through Leo.

Through Leo

Early on in the game, you'll probably be doing it through Leo. You can always just buy whatever better weapons he has in stock, but you may also ask him to upgrade them directly for you.

In order to do this, you'll need ores from the dungeons. Carmite Cave is the first one you'll go into, and if you've been there, then you might have noticed that different ore deposits give you different types of ores. Also, the chances of you getting a valuable ore increases the deeper you are in the cave. Typically, it's recommended that you just don't waste your time; just mine in the places where you'll get something valuable.

In the dungeons, you're looking for those weird rocks that look like they have gold shiny things coming out of them. Get them out by using the hammer. (You'll get your first hammer after you plant at least six fields in Carmite. Then go talk to Leo and he'll give you it.)

Once you've got your ores, go talk to Leo. Choose the "Can you forge a tool for me?" option. Make sure the tool you want to forge is in your backpack (NOT your hand), and select it. He'll tell you the ore required, the cost, and how long it'll take. Give him your tool and when you get it back, it should be upgraded.

By Yourself: Forging Tools

That's right. You can also forge your own tools in this game! Once you get good at it, this'll enable you to make a vast, vast variety of tools. (( A list of the combos required to make each tool will be coming soon. ))

First, you'll have to pick up some books, though. There are actually four series that you want to buy: Soulcraft, Accessories, Mr. Shield's Shield Course, and Mixture & Concoctions. (The last one deals with alchemy, which is irrelevant here so don't worry about it.)

Get all the books at the library. You can buy one book from the series at a time, but the Soulcraft series (to forge regular tools) will cost about 60,000G in total. The Accessories series (used mainly for the sleeping bag, but you can make presents for people too) will cost about 60,000G in total. Mr. Shield's Shield Course (I bet you can't tell what that one's for!) will cost about 20,000G in total, and the Mixtures & Concoctions book will cost 7,000G. You can get a more detailed listing at the Shops page (to come).

Once you've gotten a book and read it, you can start forging tools. It's pretty much the same as the way Leo does it, just more diverse: you can mix weapons, and ores, and a whole bunch of other stuff as well. The only real difference is that you'll need skill levels, and the required skill level gets higher as you want to forge better tools.

General Information

Alright. Like with the tools section, it's not as convenient, but due to the massive amount of info here---too much to fit all in one table without looking ridiculous---some of the weapons will be described here.

If you're looking for the stats of your weapons (i.e., atk power, speed, combo, etc.), then look in the stats section. This section will only cover weapons, how to get them, and their buying/selling prices.

Weapons Stats

There are actually only two differences between the stats listing for weapons and the stats listing for tools: charge and stat boost. Charge level is listed here, since it has more to do with direct attack, whereas charge level for tools is more for farming. Most of the aspects of your equipment's stats should be relatively self-explanatory. For anyone confused, however, here's a key:

  • Atk Pwr: the maximum attack power when equipped
  • Skill: the recommended skill level for you to be on when using this tool. If it's below this number, then the RP consumption per use will increase that much more.
  • Stat: any stat boosts gained while the weapon is equipped
  • Elem Pwr: the elemental attack power bonus (if any) you receive while the tool is equipped
  • RP Use: self-explanatory---how much RP it uses. Note that this may change based on any discrepancy between the recommended skill level and your own.
  • Charge: the maximum charge level for your weapon. The higher this is, the longer you'll be able to hold your button while using the tool, and the more powerful it will be once you let go.
  • Cmbo: the maximum number of blows per combo with this tool/weapon
  • Atk Spd: the relative speed of the attack animation
  • Shield: whether or not you can receive defense bonuses from a shield while this tool is equipped
  • Acc: the weapon's chance of damaging the enemy when an attack successfully connects
  • Traits: the general definition is "the special effects that may occur when an attack successfully strikes an enemy." Tools actually don't have much in this department, but the little they do have (i.e., the hammers' "topple" effect) will be listed regardless.

Shields

Alright. Since shields are mainly for defense, and not offense like tools and weapons, they have different types of stats than them, hence why they have their own section. So here's the key:

  • Def Pwr: how much your defensive power increases when equipped
  • Stat: stats (if any) increase while equipped
  • Atk Elem Pwr: any elemental attack powers increased while equipped. "All" refers to Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth.
  • Def Elem Pwr: any elemental defense powers increased while equipped. Again, "all" refers to Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth.
  • PWR: power resistance (%)
  • TPL: topple resistance (%)
  • PSN: poison resistance (%)
  • SEA: sealed resistance (%)
  • PAR: paralysis resistance (%)
