Animals

In this game, you can have up to thirty-two animals (excluding your pet)–eight of each kind. There are horses, cows, chickens, and sheep. You can have a male and a female of each kind and they can reproduce to have more animals. You need to have grass seeds planted in the animal's individual pasture before you can buy some of those animals. You can also buy mayonnaise, cheese, and butter machines. If you're a guy, you can just buy books and the girl will make the cheese/mayo/butter, but not to all of them.

Pets

There are six different pets you can choose from. They all have different jobs. You don't have to feed your pets.

  • Dogs: It protect your livestock outside. There's a big dog, a medium dog and a small dog.
  • Cats: It brings you seeds. There's a black one, a brown one and a white one.
  • Bird: It bring you seeds and there's only one bird.
  • Pig: It brings you money in various amounts and there's only one pig.
Horses

Horses are the only kind of animal that you can't get produce from. When you buy the horse, it'll be a foal (meaning it's only a child) and will be white with blue hair. If you breed them you can get different colors. You can ride your bigger horses around your farm if you have a saddle.

Requirements:

The requirements to get a horse are as follows:

  • 6+ patches of grass
  • At least 50 units of fodder (cut from the grass)

You can also enter your horses in races, but you don't get them back. If you buy the horse race book from the bookstore when it comes out you can see if your horse won. Make sure that the horse you enter has at least 10 hearts to make sure it wins. Your horse's color might be white or brown.

Make sure you feed and brush your horses every day.

Giving Birth:
To have a baby horse, you need a male and female. Talk to both of them and tell them each to have a baby (Say no to the first option, yes to the second). They'll both go in the pen and the next day the female will be pregnant. She'll stay in the pen until the baby is born in 30 days; make sure to feed her while she's in there. 30 days after the baby is born it will become an adult. The baby's gender is random. You can't ride your horse while she's pregnant.

Chickens

Chickens are different than the other animals, but the easiest to take care of. You can use an incubator to hatch baby chicks and they don't have individual food stalls. Chickens can also turn golden if you're really nice to them and they have 10 hearts. Only female chickens produce eggs, so having roosters is useless unless you're breeding them. To get a golden chicken with red wings, breed it with a golden rooster and normal chicken.

Requirements:

The requirements to get a chicken are as follows:

  • 4-5 patches of grass
  • At least 20 units of fodder (cut from the grass)

The only thing you're actually responsible for with chickens is to make sure they have food every day. Give them chicken feed that you can buy from the shop.

Giving Birth:
To have a baby chicken, make sure you have a male and a female. Then just take one of their eggs and put it in the incubator. In 7 days it'll hatch, and it'll take another 7 days for it to grow up into an adult. The baby's gender is random.

Cows

Cows are the most expensive animal in the game, but you will make the most profit off of them. Only female cows will give you milk, so unless you're breeding your cows, don't buy males. It might be easier just to buy all of them, because your baby cow's gender is random.

Requirements:

The requirements to get a cow are as follows:

  • 6+ patches of grass
  • At least 50 units of fodder (cut from the grass)

Make sure to brush and feed your cows, or leave them outside when the weather is nice. If you don't feed them or leave them out in bad weather, they'll get sick. Use animal medicine to make them better.

Giving Birth:
To have a baby cow, make sure you have both a male and a female. Talk to both and tell them to have a baby (Say no to option one, yes to option 2), and they'll go in the pen together. The next morning the female will be pregnant. She'll stay in the pen for 30 days until the baby is born, and then it'll take another 13 days for it to turn into a large calf. Finally, 20 days later, it'll be an adult. Your cow won't produce milk while she's pregnant. The baby's gender is random.

Produce:
How much your cow likes you will determine what quality milk it gives. To get the butter and cheese makers, you'll need to have shipped at least 200 milks (size doesn't matter). When you get them you'll be able to make butter and cheese out of your milk, although neither one is better than the other; they both sell for the same price.

Sheep

Sheep are different from the other animals as well, because it doesn't matter if they're male or female; they'll give you wool either way. If you're a guy and you buy a book on wool and making yarn and sweaters, the girl will start making those. Sheep also only give you wool once a week, whereas cows and chickens give you produce every day.

Requirements:

The requirements to get a cow are as follows:

  • 5-6 patches of grass
  • At least 30 units of fodder (cut from the grass)

Brush your sheep and feed them every day, or else leave them outside and let them eat grass that you've grown.

Giving Birth:
To have a baby sheep, make sure you have both a male and female. Talk to each of them and tell them to have a baby (Say no to option one and yes to option 2), and they'll go in the pen together. The female will become pregnant the next morning, and will stay in the pen for 30 days until the baby is born. 30 days afterwards the newborn will have grown up into an adult. You can't collect wool from your sheep while she's pregnant, and the baby's gender is random.

Produce:
Sheep produce wool every week (7-9 days, more precisely), and the quality of their wool will depend on how much they love you. Once you get the Knitwear Maker and the Yarn Maker, you can start making yarn and sweaters out of their wool. To get the Knitwear Maker, you'll need to have shipped 50 units of wool. To get the Yarn Maker, you'll need to have shipped 100.
